What you can expect

  • Your day begins with hotel pickup in Tarapoto at around 8:30 AM. From there, travel to the small town of Sauce, home to the beautiful Blue Lagoon. The drive takes about two hours, with a couple of stops along the way.

    First, cross the Huallaga River on a small ferry that carries both you and the vehicle across the river. Then, stop at La Punta del Gallinazo viewpoint to take in panoramic views of the Huallaga River and the lush surrounding landscape.

    Once you arrive in Sauce, head to the port and board a boat for a relaxing ride across the Blue Lagoon. Enjoy the peaceful scenery and take in the natural beauty of the area.

    After the boat ride, stop at El Caño recreation area, where you’ll have some free time to swim in the lagoon, relax by the water, or take a short horseback ride around the area. You can also try optional activities such as kayaking, canopy, or jet skiing at an additional cost.

    Later, enjoy lunch by the lagoon with a selection of local dishes, including traditional Amazonian flavors.

    Around 4:00 PM, begin the journey back to Tarapoto. You’ll arrive at approximately 6:00 PM and be dropped off at your hotel, marking the end of your Blue Lagoon adventure.
