What you can expect

  • Discover the Botanical Gardens of the University of Palermo, an open-air museum and one of Italy’s premier academic institutions. Founded in 1789, this garden spans 10 hectares and is home to approximately 12,000 plant species. Wander through living collections of Mediterranean, tropical, and subtropical plants, all thriving in Palermo's favorable climate.

Begin your visit by exploring the garden's extensive collections, including succulents, palms, and cycads. Marvel at the extraordinary size of some specimens and the variety of exotic plants.

As you stroll through the garden, enjoy the statues, bas-reliefs, and other artistic features that enhance the natural beauty of the space. The garden's proximity to the sea and the neighboring Villa Giulia, a public garden from the 18th century, adds to its charm. Conclude your visit with a relaxing walk along the garden's pathways, taking in the serene atmosphere and the vibrant flora.

Your ticket includes a digital audio guide app of Palermo city. You will receive the instructions with your booking confirmation.
