Discover the authentic art of distillation in the heart of Oltrepò Pavese with an exclusive experience at the Mafalda Distillery.
The experience begins with a welcome toast: you will taste a glass of organic Classic Method Blanc de Noir, made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, an expression of the region's winemaking excellence.
Accompanied by our staff, you will enter the world of artisanal spirit production by visiting the distillery and the production area, where tradition and innovation coexist every day. You will be able to see our batch copper pot stills with water baths up close – the beating heart of Mafalda's production – and discover the processing stages that give rise to high-quality gins, vermouths, bitters and liqueurs.
During the visit, we will tell you about the history of the distillery, the selection of botanicals, the production techniques and the philosophy that guides each of our creations. A sensory journey that will help you understand how unique products are created, made in keeping with the Italian liqueur-making tradition.
At the end of the tour, take a seat in the tasting area and let yourself be guided on a journey dedicated to Mafalda's flavors. You will taste three signature cocktails, prepared with our spirits and designed to enhance their aromas and distinctive characteristics.
The tasting will be accompanied by a selection of outstanding local delicacies from Vecchio Varzi, including:
Varzi PDO salami
Barbera salami
Cured coppa
Bacon
All served with the traditional Micca di Stradella, a historic bread from the Oltrepò Pavese area with its characteristic plaited shape. Recognized by Slow Food and included in the Ark of Taste, Micca is the perfect accompaniment to enhance the flavors of cured meats and typical local products.
This experience is ideal for spirits enthusiasts, food and wine lovers, and travelers looking for authentic activities away from the more traditional routes. A unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of a genuine artisanal distillery and experience a direct encounter with the culture, aromas and flavors of the Oltrepò Pavese.
