The Korouoma Canyon is one of Lapland’s most breathtaking natural wonders — famous for its frozen waterfalls, icy cliffs, and pristine snow-covered landscapes. With Arctic GM, your visit becomes more than just a hike — it’s a heritage-rooted Arctic adventure.
As Lapland’s Original Aurora Hunters™, our family has lived here for 20 generations since the 1600s. Trusted by over 50,000 guests worldwide, Arctic GM is one of Lapland’s most respected tour companies. We keep groups small (max 8 guests), run every tour fully in-house, and operate with certified guides who are first-aid trained and passionate about Arctic nature.
You’ll travel in brand-new 2025 4×4 vans, ensuring comfort and safety on the 105 km drive from Rovaniemi into the wilderness of Korouoma. Once there, your guide will lead you on a scenic 4–6 km hike through snowy forests and into the canyon. Along the way, you’ll encounter towering frozen waterfalls — giant walls of ice and glittering icicles that make Korouoma world-famous. The silence of the Arctic wilderness, broken only by the crunch of snow underfoot, makes this a truly magical trek.
Midway, gather around a campfire for hot drinks and grilled sausages — a Lapland tradition that adds warmth and flavor to your day in the canyon.
This tour requires moderate fitness, as winter conditions can make the trail more challenging. It is not recommended for children under 8 years old.
Join Arctic GM’s Frozen Waterfall Tour and experience Korouoma not just as a destination, but as part of Lapland’s living heritage — a journey shaped by 20 generations of family tradition.
