Aaron Lewis kicked off his musical career in 1995, founding the alternative metal group Staind. The band has released seven successful studio albums, but fell into a hiatus in 2012. By 2010, Lewis was already devoting much of his time to a new project. Lewis released Town Line, his first country EP, in 2011. His interest in country music was reignited after touring with Kid Rock. His debut album, The Road, was released at the end of 2012, which featured the charting single “Endless Summer”. “Grandaddy’s Gun” was written by Dallas Davidson, Rhett Akins and Bobby Pinson, and it marked the first track Lewis released containing outside material. His versatile musicianship has been picked up by many other artists, who have featured Lewis on their tracks. Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, and Sevendust are just a handful of artists Lewis have contributed to.
