Carly Rae Jepsen was born in Mission, British Columbia, and led a childhood influenced by theater. She relocated to Vancouver after graduating from school, and would perform at open mic nights at Trees Organic Coffee, where she worked as a barista. Jepsen competed in Canadian Idol, and the exposure garnered the attention of 604 Records. Her debut album, Tug of War, was released in 2008, which featured a few Gold certified tracks. Her real career breakthrough came in 2011 with the release of “Call Me Maybe”. The single spent 9 weeks topping the Billboard Hot 100, making it the year’s best-selling track. Following her massive success, Jepsen recorded a track with Owl City, which preceded her second album, Kiss. Jepsen’s 3rd studio album, Emotion, attracted a more mature audience. It featured impressive collaborations with artists like Sia, Vampire Weekend, Dev Hynes, and more. After going on her Gimmie Love Tour, Jepsen was featured in Fox’s Grease Live. In 2018, Jepsen opened for Katy Perry’s Witness: The Tour. Her latest album, Dedicated, was released in May of 2019.
