Charlotte Emma Aitchison was born in 1992 in Cambridge, England. Her self-released MySpace songs were noticed by a promoter running illegal warehouse raves, and was asked to perform at them. She was signed to Asylum Records in 2010, fresh out of the rave scene and unsure of her personal musical style. She began work with Swedish producer Patric Berger, who helped her put the international hit, “I Love It”, together. Icona Pop officially released the song and it climbed to number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. She released her debut album True Romance and a single with Marina and the Diamonds called “Just Desserts” in 2013. “SuperLove” the lead single from her second album, became Charli XCX’s first solo entry on the UK Singles Chart. She was featured in Iggy Azalea’s 2014 track, “Fancy”, which became both artists first number 1 Billboard Hot 100 song. She began songwriting for artists like Sky Ferreira, Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, and many more. Charli has broadened her horizons as of recent, setting up her own record label and working with artists like Mura Masa, Carly Rae Jepsen, Tove Lo, Troye Sivan and more.
