St. Louis Blues Ticket Information

The St. Louis Blues have put together some of the best teams in hockey, but they haven’t been able to translate that into a championship—yet. Though they are the oldest active NHL team never to have won the Stanley Cup, the team regularly makes it to the playoffs. Through the years, the squad has featured superstars like Brett Hull and Wayne Gretzky (briefly), and fans are regularly treated to world-class competition. Whether you’re a St. Louis native or are a traveler looking for a top thing to do in town, the Blues are sure to entertain sports fans with speedy slapshots, miraculous saves, and bone-rattling checks.

History of Blues

The city of St. Louis never put in a formal bid to bring a hockey team to town, but the Chicago Blackhawks owner insisted on it, and the St. Louis Blues became the 6th team to join the league in the 1967 expansion. The team has enjoyed a rivalry with the Blackhawks ever since they arrived in St. Louis, and they also love to tangle with the Detroit Red Wings. Taking advantage of a curious playoff system, the Blues made it to the Stanley Cup Finals each of their first 3 seasons. But the ‘70s was a tough decade for the team due to player retirements and an unstable financial situation, but they returned to success when they made the playoff in 1980—the beginning of their 25-year playoff streak. Right winger Brett Hull, defenseman Al MacInnis, and goaltender Curtis Joseph all joined the team in the ‘80s but could never translate their regular season success into a championship.

Blues Run the Game

After last year’s devastating NHL Playoff loss to the Nashville Predators, Blues fans are looking for real postseason success. This year’s team is primed for victory thanks to spectacular play from top-scorers Brayden Schenn and Vladimir Tarasenko. Pick up an affordable ticket to the Scottrade Center and join the action as the Bluenotes take the ice in a thrilling spectacle.
