Texas Christian University has a sporting tradition that dates back to the 1890s and has brought some outstanding talent to the fields of Fort Worth. A longtime member of the Southwest Conference, TCU has played in the Big 12 since 2012 and fields 9 men’s and 12 women’s teams in NCAA sports. The football program has featured dozens of famous names at Amon G. Carter Stadium on the way to a host of conference titles and 16 bowl game wins. The basketball teams light up the stands in Schollmaier Arena, with the women making regular appearances in the NCAA tournament. In addition, the women’s rifle team has been winning titles since the 1970s.

From track and field to golf, the Horned Frogs have built up a reputation as tough competitors who shouldn’t be counted out. TCU’s rivalry with Baylor is one of the oldest and most competitive in the nation, and the school earned a reputation for toppling some of the dominant programs in the country.
