Vajdahunyad Castle (Vajdahunyadvar)
  • 30m
  • Admission ticket not included
Vajdahunyad Castle, located in Budapest, Hungary, is a picturesque and unique architectural gem that stands in the City Park (Városliget). Vajdahunyad Castle was originally built in 1896 as part of the Millennial Exhibition celebrating the 1,000th anniversary of the Hungarian state. The structure was designed by architect Ignác Alpár and initially constructed from cardboard and wood. Due to its popularity and the admiration it garnered, it was later rebuilt in stone and brick between 1904 and 1908.
Varosliget
  • 1h
Városliget's history dates back to the early 19th century. The area was originally a swampy expanse, which was transformed into a park in the early 1800s under the direction of Hungarian landscape architect Henrik Nebbien. The official opening of the park took place in 1896, marking the millennium of the Hungarian state. It has since become a central recreational and cultural area for both locals and tourists.
Museum of Ethnography
  • 30m
The Museum of Ethnography in Budapest is one of the premier institutions dedicated to the collection, preservation, and study of ethnographic artifacts and cultural heritage in Hungary.
Statue of George Washington (Pass by)
The George Washington statue was erected in 1906 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of American independence and to celebrate the strong bond between Hungary and the United States. The statue was a gift from Hungarian-Americans and serves as a symbol of freedom and democracy, values that both nations hold dear.
Hungarian National Museum
  • 1h
  • Admission ticket not included
The Hungarian National Museum was founded in 1802 by Count Ferenc Széchényi, who donated his personal collection of books, manuscripts, and antiquities to the nation. This generous act laid the foundation for what would become Hungary’s premier historical museum. The museum officially opened to the public in 1847, housed in a grand neoclassical building designed by architect Mihály Pollack.
