Weekend getaways in Nicaragua

I've been coming back for more than 20 years, even before the new owners upgraded everything. This hotel is the best value in San Juan Del Sur. Next to cathedral and main park, walk to everything. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and fully bilingual. The neighborhood while very close in is quiet and safe. Its just below Pelican Eyes at half the price. Rooms and beds light, airy and comfortable even at the lower price point. All town's amenities are a few steps away.

This is a unique property...the cabanas are delightful and the location is small. The owner was extremely helpful and the Italian food, including the pizza, was sensational. The pool is a little slippery on the stairs and be sure to reserve parking if you need it.

Stayed for 4 days in October. All hotel staff was very helpful arranging taxis and places to go. Breakfast every morning was delicious. Great pool to cool off. We stayed on the 2nd floor and the room was comfortable and clean. Lovely colonial feel and can't beat the location. Had a great time.

We loved our stay here. There's only 4 rooms total so it feels like a private sanctuary most of the time. Convenient location, peaceful, with beautiful historic and cultural touches. Excellent service and cleanliness too. We'll definitely be back just to stay here.

The owners are super nice and kind,very helpful with advice or booking trips or any problem that may arise.The property and the rooms are just like the pictures,clean and very beautifully decorated. Quiet and safe neighborhood and walking distance to downtown.The coffee and the breakfast are outstanding! We surely will be coming back here,we stayed six nights and it was beautiful.

This place was amazing the staff was over the top ! for the price this lodge is a great deal We suggest everyone should visit this place. Food was outstanding and plenty of it.

This historic building was beautiful, spacious, and tranquil. There aren't many rooms, so even though it was full when I stayed there, it did not feel like a busy hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only warning is that the pool (the first ever built in Granada, I'm told) is very shallow. It is in great shape and looks lovely, but if you want to do laps you won't have much room to work with. The hotel is only a couple blocks from Central Park, so it is close to everything but...

Wonderful place to stay. Food is excellent. Great view. Only problem for me was there were a lot of roaches in the room but other then that great place. Staff takes there sweet time getting to you during dining.

Superb hotel echoes the colonial grace of the city of Granada and the life of the Spanish grandees. Felt pampered and looked after. Only there one night but would be pleased to return for a week. Friends stayed elsewhere for about the same price which offered facilities for infants, which this hotel does not. Both were lovely places near town centre. For us, this was ideal, though regretted no time for the pool.

Fabulous placer to stay right on the beach! There’s a swimming pool and lovely grounds with tropical plants and comfy hammocks and lounge furniture. Staff members Gustavo and Justino were pleasant and super helpful when it came to giving us info about local restaurants and local activities. They even set up our shuttle to our next destination. The room was very clean and had AC. AND there were beach cruiser bikes available at no extra cost. HIGHLY recommended !!

Great hotel, stunning views over Laguna de Apoyo. The hotel provides shuttle service to the Lagoon and into Granada at 9 and 1, with pick ups at 1 or 4. They can also arrange drop offs and pick up at other times for a small charge. Its perfect for people who want a 5 star hotel away from the noise and busy city. The location of the hotel is excellent. Right in the old town one block from the main center. Everything is walkable. The hotel was very clean and the service was outstanding. It is a small location with only 7 rooms that are facing the inside courtyard as is traditional in Granada. The service and the food (full Breakfast was included) were superb. The hotel’s concierge Skarlet was unbelievable. She was available for anything we needed at all times of the day and night as well as on her days...
