Description

Enjoy Cancun with this two day combo tour! Get to know one of the seven wonders of the world and sail away from Cancun on a catamaran full of fun.

At Chichen Itza, avoid the crowds and heat. Get the most of knowledge of the archaeological site of Chichen Itza. Arriving in the site, a specialist guide will give you a detailed and in depth tour of the site, enjoying the tranquillity of your morning visit before the crowds arrive. Throughout the tour, your guide will provide archaeological essential background so you better understand the history of Chichen Itza.

Discover how this large pre-Columbian city played an important role in the Mayan civilization around 600 AD to 1200, and remained a center of worship and pilgrimage until the arrival of the Spaniards. Even today, it is still considered sacred by the Mayan people of the Yucatan site. Like many of the cities of ancient Mexico, the site was abandoned, and its ruins were hidden in the jungle.

The Chichen Itza tour is great, our tour guide , Marco is very knowledgeable and friendly, coach bus was comfortable, with the Isla mujeres experience, didn't meet my expectations, snorkling wasn't great, not that much to see, ended up paying extra to be with less tourist boat, $50/person, staff are great but only left over food was served when we arrived in Isla mujeres.

Chichen Itzá tour was great led by Marco. He's passionate and knowledgeable about the Mayan culture. It was the early morning trip and was worth it because we got there by opening time and were able to take pictures without tourists in the photo. We were back by 4.30-5pm at the hotel just in time for dinner. The Isla Mujeres trip was fun led by Rodrigo who is the most entertaining tour guides of all! He's super fun and made guests of all ages enjoy the boat ride. The drinks were poured non-stop which are watered down but at least no one got drunk and belligerent. There was good music and dancing on the catamaran and we all enjoyed ourselves. There's optional snorkeling to check out the reefs and the underwater museum of the statues. It was about 30 minutes long and led by one of their instructors. You need to be a good swimmer because it is a fast paced snorkeling experience with swimming about 500 yards in choppy waters. It was fun though. 2 hrs of free time on the island.

This was a great value, I loved it all. For Sure the Chichen Itza tour is 5 STARS, I can't separate the two tours on this review, but Marco our tour guide was FANTASTIC. Very knowledgeable, passionate about not just the ruins, but the story behind the ruins, you can tell it really is his life's work. There were about 10 total on our tour. The transport van picked us up at 5:15am at our hotel, and that seems really early for a vacation day, but I was so glad we started early because stopped at a convenience store prior to leaving Cancun for a little breakfast snack and we got to the ruins just prior to opening, so there was no crowd and the temperature was perfect. We finished before it got too hot and there were hundreds of people all over by the time we left. The Isla Mujeres catamaran was a bit crowded. Interesting, but we felt rushed in the water and there were a lot of people.
