Know Before You Book
Minimum age 8. Children 8-16. This is not suitable for Children from 0-7.
Reasonable fitness and the ability to walk for up to 6 hours a day will help you enjoy your Freycinet experience to the full.
We depart from the Old Woolstores Apartments in Hobart, we ask guests to gather there at 8am on the first morning. We arrive back into Hobart at 5pm on the last day and can do Hobart Airport drop-offs, we recommend for flights leaving after 6 pm.
In most cases we are able to offer individual travellers their own private room at no extra cost. Please let us know if this is required.
You do not need to be an elite athlete to enjoy our walks. If you already enjoy activities such as walking, swimming, taking the stairs, playing golf etc. you are well placed to manage our walks.
We recommend starting some more targeted training, including walking, in your daily routine leading up to the trip to ensure maximum enjoyment of the experience.
If the weather is ominous, the boat may be prevented from heading out. In this situation alternative plans can be carried out and segments of the walk modified to allow for the best outcome.
Shared bathrooms - Our accomodation is seperated into two lodges. Each lodge has four bedrooms, a lounge with fireplace, two toilets, a bathroom, a shower and a sink area.You share with a maximum of five people.

Then return each evening to the award-winning Friendly Beaches Lodge, nestled in its own secluded sanctuary, where delicious, candle-lit meals, steaming hot showers, deep baths and comfortable beds await.
Walk beaches of powder white sand. Hike spectacular pink granite mountains carrying only a small daypack. Explore the region by boat, go fishing, swimming and snorkelling and travel to uninhabited Schouten island.
For the duration of your stay, the lodge is for you and your walking companions exclusively. With only one trip held at a time, four knowledgeable staff members are focused purely on making your trip as enjoyable as possible. Unpack just once and sleep blissfully in private, comfortable rooms with warm, goose down doonas and quality, Egyptian cotton sheets.
