Enjoy the natural diversity of Rio de Janeiro by beginning your tour at the Botanical Garden. Visit the Sensory Garden, the Brazilwood tree (which gives its name to the country), Turtle Lake, and the lake with giant water lilies. Walk through the bicentennial imperial palm trees on your way to the orchidarium and bromeliad house.
Next, visit the Vista Chinesa gazebo (please note that on Saturdays and Sundays, Vista Chinesa is off the route, as vehicles are not allowed on the highway) and take in a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro from 388 meters above sea level. From here, you can see the mountains, forest, and ocean, as well as Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf in the distance. Continue on to an adventure in the Tijuca National Forest, one of the largest urban forests in the world. Observe the Taunay Waterfall and walk along a simple trail while learning more about the Atlantic Forest, its flora, and fauna. Finally, return to the vehicle and pass by the famous São Conrado beach to observe the hang gliders and paragliders before taking a panoramic route back to the hotel.
