Description

Feel the adrenaline as you trek along the narrow Caminito Del Rey (The King's Little Pathway), which stands 328 feet (100 m) above the Guadalhorce River. Take in marvelous views of the canyon below and the rugged cliff above as you explore the area atop the refurbished walkway.

After meeting your guide at a convenient location in Malaga, make your way to the Conde de Guadalhorce reservoir, the area's main water source. Travel through the arid countryside and listen to your guide explain the history of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes gorge. The Guadalhorce River carved through the limestone walls of the canyon creating this spectacular natural wonder.

As you approach Caminito del Rey, learn all about King Alfonso XIII, who crossed the path himself in 1921 in honor of the opening of the dam at Conde del Guadalhorce. Luckily, this vertigo-inducing trail was recently refurbished, so your walk is certainly less treacherous than the king's. After working up the nerve to take the first step, hike along the golden cliffs and spot trees miraculously growing from the rocky outcroppings. If you dare, look down and spot the river below as it winds its way through the steep gorge.

Once we finished the breathtaking Caminito del Rey, our bus will take us to Álora, a little village on the surrounding of El Caminito del Rey. A local products tasting will take place in a local restaurant, with products like, almonds, oil, bread, wine and olives.

Super bien organisé. La guide et le chauffeur du bus au top. Vue magnifique à faire. Assez ludique pour les enfants qui en ont un peu marre des vieilles pierres.

Caminito del Rey was amazing. But the program listed a tour from Malaga (8:45 - 14:15). The tour was prolonged with more than 3 hours. A stop of one hour at a LOUSY cafe with LOUSY food and a return trip via Marbella, Fuengirola and Torremolinos, This was not scheduled and was revealed in the bus on the way home. We arrived in Malaga at 17:20 and missed our last lunch and afternoon in Malaga. A trip along the coast was of no interest to us. We just came from 6 days in Marbella and had taken that trip before. If we had known the return schedule we would have taken a taxi from Carminito del Rey to Malaga and sent the bill to you. It is just not in order to prolong a trip with 3 hours. The tour guide got NO TIPS from anybody, and if it was not his fault, I fell pity for him.

it was amazing, the whole experience was really lovely from the coach journey and the guide to walking up the mountains and sitting down for a cool drink after in the white town. the only thing was there was a lot of waiting around and we finished much later than expected (which I didn't mind as we enjoyed the journey back and everything) but I wish I would have known so I could plan better. All in all a fantastic experience.
