One of our team will pick you up from your hotel or the nearby meeting point we set beforehand at 7:50 in the morning to begin your journey to the Blue Pearl, Chefchaouen.
Upon boarding the vehicle, we will head towards Chefchaouen, also known as Chauen, nestled in the Rif Mountains near Tangier. The drive takes approximately 4 hours, during which we’ll make three scenic stops to admire breathtaking landscapes and take short breaks for rest and photos. The road is mostly paved and in fair to good condition, but please note it becomes winding and narrow in certain sections as we approach the Rif Mountains.
Attention: Be prepared for curves and switchbacks near Chefchaouen; If you get motion sickness, consider taking medication beforehand.
As you arrive, the town’s signature blue-washed buildings will captivate your attention. You’ll have about 4 hours of free time to explore the picturesque medina, wander through its charming alleys, visit local shops, sip mint tea in one of the cafés, and enjoy the lively atmosphere at Plaza Uta el-Hammam. Don’t miss the 18th-century Kasbah Museum, the Grand Mosque, or a peaceful walk along the Ras Elma river. You may also enjoy the ethnographic museum, featuring traditional instruments, antique weapons, and photos of Chefchaouen’s past.
In the afternoon, we will start the 4-hour return journey to Fez. The meeting time and location will be confirmed by your greeter or driver before departure. Expected arrival back in Fez is around 20:00 to 21:00, more or less, depending on the traffic and stops made along the way.
