Description

Spend a day exploring the quaint fishing towns, coastal scenes, and world-class shops and eateries of Martha’s Vineyard. Hassle-free roundtrip transportation and an easy ferry ride across the water make this the perfect way to experience a day on the island.

A comfortable coach picks you up from your Boston hotel for the scenic, 90-minute drive to Falmouth. Arrive at the docks and skip the line onto the ferry, either the Island Queen or a boat run by the Steamship Authority depending on the time of year. Grab a drink or snack if you’d like and settle in for the 35-minute ride out to Martha’s Vineyard, located just 7 miles (11 km) off the coast.

With a full 6 hours on the island, you can soak up its rural sights and abundant New England charm at your leisure. Shop the boutiques and galleries in one of the island’s 6 towns, admire the gingerbread cottages and resort homes along the shore, or head to the beach to dig your toes into the sand. You can delve into maritime history at a museum, trek to lighthouses perched on rugged clay cliffs, or rent a bike or moped to zip between attractions. When the afternoon draws to a close, head back to the docks for your return ferry to the mainland, where your bus awaits to take you back to Boston by early evening.

Hotel pickup is available only at the following hotels: Ames Hotel, Boston Common Hotel & Conference Center, Boston Harbor Hotel, Chandler Inn, Colonnade, Courtyard Downtown/Tremont St., Custom House, Doubletree Downtown/Washington St., Fairmont Copley Plaza, Hampton Inn & Suites/Crosstown Center, Hilton Back Bay, Hilton Downtown Financial District, Hyatt Regency Boston, Hotel 140, Intercontinental, Langham, Lenox, Liberty, Loews, Marriott Copley Place, Marriott Long Wharf, Millennium Boston, Omni Parker House, Park Plaza, Renaissance, Residence Inn Congress St., Revere Hotel, Seaport, Sheraton, W Hotel, Westin Waterfront, & Wyndham Beacon Hill.

The van arrived on time, even on the early side, and had us in Falmouth in plenty of time to board the ferry leisurely. The tour bus was ready for us, which allowed for a full complete tour in three hours, giving us time to enjoy Oak Bluffs on our own. The return was as efficient and smooth. I highly recommend New England Trips.
