The Kastel Fortress is the oldest historical monument in Banja Luka, located on the banks of the Vrbas River. Its foundations date back to Roman times, though the current structure was significantly expanded during the Ottoman period. The fortress served as a military stronghold for centuries and includes stone walls, watchtowers, and inner courtyards.
