Meeting/Redemption Point

    • Woolley, Bude EX23 9PP, UK | Go to the village of Woolley, postcode EX23 9PP. The only way you should get there is directly off the A39, just south of the Cornwall-Devon border. The sat nav might suggest you go a million country lanes if you are approaching from Bude, but it's way easier to follow A39 until you see the sign for Woolley. Drive the road towards Woolley and eventually you will come to a big triangle of grass and a fork in the road. The meeting point is a white garage straight across the green, in between two houses. Take the left fork and park on the green next to the telephone pole. I will be there when you arrive! To help you recognise it, there will probably be a blue Ford Focus and a silver VW Polo parked outside a house called The Old Forge to the left of the garage. You can park on the road just outside the garage.

What you can expect

Discover the quiet, hidden side of Cornwall away from the crowds on electric bikes. The electric bikes take the effort out of cycling the hilly terrain, leaving you to enjoy the ride in comfort.

Take a 3-hour tour where you can leave the bikes to take a short walk out to the stunning towering wild and remote cliffs of Morwenstow with views of the Atlantic and learn about the fascinating local history of shipwrecks, piracy, and smuggling.

Cycle out to the stunning cliffs of Morwenstow, including a walk out to Hawker’s Hut – a cabin built into the cliff face in the 1840s out of shipwreck wood by a famous eccentric vicar. This route is all on quiet lanes. Just two steep hills and the rest is lovely and flat.

Optional stop at the rectory Tearooms for a Cornish Cream tea or at the 13th Century Bush Inn for a bite or drinks. The route is on sleepy country lanes with little traffic.
