Fenqihu Historical Street (奮起湖老街) is a charming, old-fashioned street located in the mountain village of Fenqihu in Taiwan. One of the highlights of Fenqihu Historical Street is its traditional bento boxes, called Fenqihu Bento (奮起湖便當), which were originally created for passengers traveling on the Alishan train. These bentos often feature local specialties such as bamboo shoots, sausages, braised pork, and vegetables. Visitors can enjoy this local delicacy while exploring the street's many tea houses, souvenir shops, and old bakeries offering freshly made pastries.

The Alishan Small Train, also known as the Alishan Forest Railway (阿里山森林鐵路), is a historic narrow-gauge railway in Taiwan, renowned for its scenic mountain routes and cultural significance. Built during the Japanese colonial period in 1912, the railway was initially used for logging the region’s abundant cypress trees but has since become a major tourist attraction due to its breathtaking landscapes and unique engineering. The train operates on a steep, winding route, climbing from Chiayi City at an elevation of 30 meters to the Alishan National Scenic Area at over 2,200 meters above sea level. Along the way, passengers are treated to stunning views of forests, deep gorges, and mist-covered mountains. The Alishan National Scenic Area (阿里山國家風景區) is one of Taiwan’s most famous and picturesque tourist destinations, located in the central mountains of Chiayi County. Known for its majestic landscapes, misty forests, and rich cultural heritage, Alishan offers visitors a blend of natural beauty and traditional Taiwanese experiences. One of the most iconic experiences in Alishan is watching the sunrise from Zhushan (祝山). Shouzhen Temple, located in the Alishan National Scenic Area, is the largest temple in the region and a significant Taoist spiritual site in Taiwan. Dedicated to Xuantian Shangdi, the temple showcases traditional Chinese architecture with ornate carvings and grand halls. Visitors come to pray for protection and blessings, especially during Taoist festivals, while enjoying the serene atmosphere surrounded by lush mountains. Shouzhen Temple also honors other deities, such as Guanyin and Mazu, making it an important cultural and religious destination in the Alishan area.
