If you would like to cycle in tranquil rural areas to meet and communicate with these friendly local people to discover the beauty of Luang Prabang in an entirely different way, then this trip certainly offers you this possibility.

You will depart from Luang Prabang and head towards Ban Phanom village which is well-known throughout the country for its weaving.

After spending some time looking around, you will continue onwards along the banks of the river Khan before arriving at the fascinating Henri Mohot Tomb. Here you can take a while to look around before moving onwards to Ban Picknoi village which is home to the ethnic Youane people.

After that it is time crossed the Nam Khan River by fishing boat, and head onwards to Ban Pickyai village which is home to both Youane and Leu ethnic communities. Joining in this river cruise along the way, you will pass through several peaceful rural villages, enormous rice fields and some magnificent scenery before arriving at the village.

When carrying onwards you will pass through more ethic villages such as: Ban Kokvan a village of Khmu ethnic minority and Ban Bohae a Hmong village. Here you will make a short stop for a while to have a well prepared picnic lunch and take some relaxing time.

After lunch you head off by bicycle again on your way back to Luang Prabang. It will take you an around 2.5-hour journey along a paved road, during the trip back to Luang Prabang you can make a stop for a short while at Ban Xang Khong which is famous for its handmade ‘Saa’ paper, made from mulberry trees.
