Description

You will visit Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, to find out about the turbulent history of one of the world’s last divided cities.

Arriving in the south part of Nicosia, your guide will show and give you all the interesting facts about this town. Discover the Liberty Monument and the Cathedral of St John located in the centre of old town of Nicosia. Despite its modest exterior, the interior of The Cathedral of St John will take you by surprise.

You'll be taken on a walking tour through the partially car-free old town within the Venetian Walls.

Stop by a traditional confectionary to enjoy coffee and a sweet treat.

Once in the occupied part of Nicosia, you will visit Buyuk Han and Ayia Sofia Church.

Ample free time will be provided for shopping or for lunch. For those interested, the guide will wait for you at 15h00 outside Leventis Museum for a visit. This tour ends with your drop off back at your centrally located hotel in Ayia Napa, Protaras or Larnaca.

Interesting tour and amusing guide, Maria - clear explanations and friendly. Nice little touches like free fresh lemonade and cheese parcels at a cafe plus a whirling dervish performance. Plenty of time for a quick visit to both sides of the capital. Would recommend if interested in Cyprus history.

Very interesting tour to the last divided capital city of the world. The guide, Helen is very well informed and is able to capture the audience. She managed the activities in a profesional manner. We could even see some whirling dervishes dancing!
