Description

Spectacular views of Mount Batur and the Kintamani highlands frame a day of adventure that shows you the rich culture and incredible sights of Bali. Learn about the island and its people with stories from your knowledgeable guide as you find temples, handicrafts, and grand volcanic vistas.

The outing begins with a ride from your hotel to explore the sights of a vibrant art village, where you can meet with the people who keep the techniques of the region's handicrafts alive. Once you've seen the lively world of Balinese traditions, head out into the country for some magnificent views across the rice terraces of Tegalallang.

Next, your guide takes you into the highlands of Kintamani for a panoramic view of the forested ridges around the volcanic caldera of Mount Batur. Relax in the cold mountain breeze, and then pay a visit to the town of Tampaksiring to see the Hindu temple of Tirta Empul, famed for its holy spring waters. The driver arrived at the appointed time although wanted to check from the booking what was included in the tour as he seemed to be unsure. He did advise me that if there was anything else I wanted to see or do just to let him know. There was a lot packed in during the day, he came to collect me at 8.30am and I arrived back to the hotel at 5pm. We started with Barong dancing which was interesting. After that he completed a schedule of things to see and do during the day. We then went to a shop/workshop where silver and batik is made, we went to a local temple, Tegallalang rice fields, Kintamani Highlands for lunch, a coffee plantation. There were a lot of taxes and additional fees for most things which were not fully explained beforehand. There was a fee for the dancing, a fee for the rice fields to get in which was fair but once you go inside they also expect you to make a donation. There was a fee to get into the temple, a fee to get into Kintamani and lunch was not included.
