The afternoon tour will begin at your chosen tour option.. I'll pick you up at your hotel or restaurant. First, we'll have a briefing. Then, I will take you on a tour of Battambang's French colonial buildings. This includes the monument of Ta Dambong Kra Aung statue, which is the city's symbol. Afterward, we'll continue to our next goal (the original bamboo train).
Suspension Bridge:
Before we board the bamboo train, we'll visit small, picturesque villages. We'll travel through the countryside to see some fruit farms and local pagodas along the riverbank. The farmers have wonderful smiles, and young children are waving and saying HELLO!) to you, and I will stop in the village to explain how the locals live there. Then we go to visit a suspension bridge near the Kampong Pil Pagoda. You can take pictures on the bridge with stunning river views. After that, we continue our trek to the Bamboo Train.
Bamboo Train:
I will take you on the original bamboo train. This is the last chance to ride the original bamboo train at Osrolao village. This village is a long distance for riders about 7 k.m. The government plans to close it soon. The ride per hour can see scenic views of small villages and countryside. Then, for a late lunch, head to a village restaurant.
Phnom Sampeau:
This mountain is known as Phnom Sampov, or the (killing cave, bat cave). This is where you can view the cave from the top. They executed victims during the Pol Pot regime and pushed them down into the cave. After visiting the cave, you can climb the mountain to witness a beautiful vista and a Buddhist pagoda.
Note: There are a lot of monkeys over there. Don’t be very close to them because some of them are very aggressive. To go up to the mountain, you have a few different options to choose from. You can climb up to the mountain by walking. If you prefer, you can take a motorcycle or pick-up truck up to the mountain.
