Overview

This exciting tour really shows off what Mount Shasta has to offer. Spend half the tour on the west side, the Klamath Mountain Range. This includes going to Ney Springs and Faery Falls. This area is known as one of the Sacred Sites in this area. We next visit spectacular Castle Lake. Learn about Limnology, the study of the crystal clear water.
We spend the second half of the tour on the mountain. We will explore the lower slopes of Mt. Shasta by driving the backroads to Everitt Memorial Highway, the only paved road on Mt. Shasta. We will continue and stop at Red Fir Flat. Learn about the Shasta Red Firs and visit Ascension Rock. We will continue to Bunny Flat, the main trailhead. If the road is open, we'll go to the Old Ski Bowl.
