Description

Street dance in the South Bronx! Everyone is welcome to learn moves from our local dancers in the birthplace of hip-hop in our 2.5 hour workshop. Our experienced It’s Showtime NYC! dancer-teachers will lead you through the history of NYC’s street dance culture, share their personal stories as street and subway dancers, demonstrate distinctive dance styles (hip hop, flexN, litefeet, etc.) and teach you key moves in hip hop dance. Surrounded by lush graffiti backdrops under the Third Avenue Bridge in the South Bronx, our setting provides vibrant photo ops for our visitors. Our dancers work one on one with each visitor to ensure that everyone is having fun while learning moves aligned with each person’s comfort level. We’re just a ten minute subway ride on the #6 subway from Manhattan's Museum Mile (the Metropolitan Museum, Guggenheim Museum, etc.), meeting outside the first subway stop in the Bronx. Tourists of all ages from around the world consistently tell us our workshop is the most exceptional and meaningful experience of their NYC visits. Your support helps our non-profit organization deliver work opportunities and professional development to our network of street and subway dancers. No doubt, this is where NYC's true character comes above ground.

Wow! Izzy and Rhea were absolutely amazing. I can't believe how warm, funny and informative they were. The kids in the group had so much fun, and I really felt like I had a chance hear the history and learn the break down of certain moves and how they connect to different dance forms. It was fascinating. I was also pleasantly surprised by how charming the area was, with great looking restaurants, shops, cafes and art galleries. Rhea was so patient teaching moves, and we all were laughing so much. I've spent a lot of money on other activities in NYC, from Broadway shows to food tours in Brooklyn, and this is absoltely the BEST memory of my visit to NYC. Rhea and Izzy were so fun and genuine and great dancers. This is truly an exceptional opportunity to experience the true nature of NYC culture. I can't say enough good things. Incredible! GO!
