What you can expect

Kayak and Paddleboard rentals on Kings Bay in Crystal River, Florida. Birds Underwater Dive Center is located on the waterfront. Kings Bay is world famous due to the unique gathering of West Indian Manatees, a protected species. The bay is 3 miles in diameter, approximately 660 acres of water, making it easy to navigate. Waters are calm in normal weather conditions, and the bay is very easy to navigate. Kayaks are wide and stable, suitable for first time users. Manatees can be found in the bay all year around, high season is from November to March where the bay supports over 800 manatees that come there in the winter to shelter from the cold Gulf of Mexico waters. Renters will watch a video called Manatee Manners for kayakers and the dive shop will supply you with a simple map and necessary instructions. Rate is based on a 4 hour rent, hours are 9-5 for kayak return.
