Know before you book

  • We do not carry infants under the age of one on our 4WD coach tour.
  • Infants aged one to three years are welcome on our 4WD coach tour and can travel free of charge. Please note that they require a seat be booked to travel in. If available, please bring along a suitable car seat for them, as we are unable to fit capsules. Infants must be able to sit upright.
  • If you child/infant is aged from one to eight, please provide them with a car seat. If you do not have a car seat, please contact the Reservations Team before booking to check availability. We do not carry infants under the age of one on our 4WD coach tour.
  • Qld law states that all passengers must be suitably restrained including infants and children.
  • Tour itineraries may change due to tides and weather conditions.
  • All travellers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
  • As our suite of tours are off-road, we recommend that pregnant travellers or people with existing medical conditions seek medical advice before booking.
  • Travellers need to be independently mobile to access and disembark the 4WD buses and all tour sites visited. For guests requiring a wheelchair, we recommend discussing your situation with one of our Reservations Agents prior to booking, to ensure that your requirements can be accommodated.
  • Lake Wabby: This is a 4km return walk through bushland and across soft sands - a moderate fitness level is required. The Lake Wabby Walk is an optional activity.

What you can expect

Illumina will light up the skies with an all-new light and sound spectacle at Kingfisher Bay Resort. Using the native environment as an artistic platform, Illumina will tell the island’s story in a modern, theatrical interpretation, immersing guests into the brilliance of K’gari and sharing stories about the incredible ecosystem recognized on the World Heritage-list for over thirty years. Experience the Illumina light show on your pre-night at Kingfisher Bay Resort.

Relax island-side, spending one pre-night and two post-nights at Kingfisher Bay Resort on the western bay. Immerse yourself in nature-based activities, bask in the golden glow of a K’gari sunset with island cocktails or wine, and dine at various bars and restaurants.

After a relaxing night at Kingfisher Bay Resort, head out for two full days of 4WD coach touring, spending one night at K’gari Beach Resort on 75 Mile Beach along the island’s east coast. This bucket list two-day guided tour with an expert local guide takes you to must-see attractions, including Lake McKenzie, hidden gems like Lake Wabby, and the ocean’s natural jacuzzi, Champagne Pools.

Day One: Your five-day adventure begins with your choice of ferry to Kingfisher Bay Resort, 9:00am, 1:00pm or 3:30pm. Courtesy transfers are available to/from the airport and select locations in Hervey Bay. Upon arrival, immerse yourself in a pre-night stay, making the most of the resort facilities. Check into accommodation (after 2:00 PM). Experience the magic of Illumina! Join us at the Maheno Bar for a meet and greet, starting at 7:00pm. The show will begin at 7:15pm.

Day Two:
7.00am: Breakfast at Sand & Wood restaurant.
9.00am: Check out of Standard Resort Hotel Room.
9.30am: Arrive at The Sunset Bar for a prompt departure.
9.45am: Depart Kingfisher Bay Resort and begin K’gari two-day tour.
5.30pm: Arrival and check in at K’gari Beach Resort.

Day three:
7.00am: Breakfast at McKenzie’s on 75 restaurant.
8.00am: Tour resumes from outside reception.
Depart your final island tour location and return to your Kingfisher Bay Resort accommodation.

Day four and five:
Two days at leisure. Both days include breakfast (Sand & Wood restaurant) and full access to Kingfisher Bay Resort facilities. Return ferry transfer back to the mainland on the ferry (Includes local courtesy drop-offs from River Heads to select locations). On day five, you must depart the resort by the final ferry at 5.00pm
