      What you can expect

On this day trip from Hilo, see Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Rainbow Falls, downtown Hilo, Liliuokalani Garden, as well as a black-sand beach and the farmers market. With a group limited to 25 people, listen to commentary from your knowledgeable and attentive guides.

Visit a black-sand beach formed by lava entering the ocean and frequented by green sea turtles. Then see the Japanese-style Liliuokalani Garden, adjacent to the Banyan Drive hotels on the coast and named after the last monarch of Hawaii.

Next, admire the rainforests of the Hilo as you drive to the must-see Rainbow Falls, where water tumbles 82 feet (28 m) into a gorge. A gentle 100 feet walk takes you through a rainforest of philodendron vines, orchids, mango trees, and heliconia. .

At Big Island Candies, discover coffee trees and a factory, try chocolate macadamia ice cream and visit the gift shop, offering assorted nuts and shorbread cookies. Then head to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, covering 200,000 acres (80,937 ha) and unlike anywhere else in the world.

As you explore the park, admire Kilauea, the Hawaii Volcano National Park visitor center, Halemaumau Crater—home of Pele, the fire-goddess—and the July 1974 lava flow. At Thurston Lava Tube, stroll through a rainforest and a Hawaiian cave.

Rest assured when booking knowing that in 30yrs or operation, we have never missed our guests' departure whether by plane or by boat.
