Grab your paddle and jump on a board for a thrilling adventure out in the deep blue waters of Lake Tahoe. Stand-up paddleboarding is a great way to explore the shores of this sprawling expanse of water, taking in the stunning mountain scenery and getting a great workout along the way.

Start your day getting fitted with the proper board length and paddle size that best fits your body type. A brief safety video offers tips and techniques, and experienced staff give you a few pointers on how to properly maneuver your buoyant ride.

With the fundamentals behind you, head out to the tan sands of South Lake Tahoe's shoreline and glide your board into water. Climb on top and take a few minutes to test out your ride. Whether you're a complete rookie or an advanced paddler, Lake Tahoe is a great place to explore on a stand-up paddleboard.

Cruise around the lake, taking in views of the surrounding hillsides, saturated with lodgepole pine and white fir, and watch the water color change from turquoise to navy blue as you move away from shore. As the second deepest lake in the US, Lake Tahoe reaches a depth of 1,645 feet (501 m). When your arms get tired, take a break and catch a few rays on the beach, or simply lay back on your board and drift before heading back at the end of your rental.

Staff was friendly and willing to offer discounts for more fun on the lake. Lockers were available for use beside to lake for valuables. It was a great time on the beautiful lake!

Staff was friendly and informative. It was windy and they recommended that I postpone my stand up paddle board journey. When I told them I only had that one day, they gave me a kayak for the same price because they wanted me to be able to get out on the water.
