Mexico City is well-known for its huge cultural activity. That is why you will visit the most iconic historical places and have the opportunity to taste some of its famous meals.
Our guided visit, will start at Zocalo. Here we will find great buildings such as the Cathedral and the National Palace. From here, we will stroll through the iconic 5 de mayo street, which honors the Mexican historical battle day against French people. T_he Casa De Los Azulejos, a jewel building of New Spain baroque, is also on this street. The end of this historical tour will be in Palacio de Bellas Artes, one of the most famous Mexican cultural centers. This is not only an art house, if not the iconic opera place of Mexico. To culminate this cultural visit, we will go to a Taqueria_ and try authentic Mexican tacos.
After whetting your appetite a bit, we will explore Mexican food markets. Local cuisine and market stalls are a big part of the Mexican cultural heritage. These give a picturesque touch to the city and are a great attraction for tourists, chefs, and food lovers from all over the world.
We will start by walking through the magic stalls of Mercado de San Juan. Here you will be amazed by its exotic animal meat, vegetables, fruits, and insect delicacies. And there is still more! We will surprise you with the tasting of these delicacies, and to leave an even more Mexican taste in your mouth, you will try a shot of tequila or mezcal.
After 45 minutes of spare time to explore its food stalls and diverse meals, we will head to Mercado de Ciudadela. Our last stop is known for its handicrafts made and cured by Mexican artisans, and the place to pick up the most loved souvenirs. You will learn about its origin and history and have the opportunity to visit some of its more than 350 stalls!
