Experience unimpaired views from your window seat as you fly through a landscape of unbelievable grandeur and beauty, above mountains and glaciers onboard our fixed-wing aircraft. Your knowledgeable, highly skilled local pilot will provide interesting and informative commentary during this 45-minute flight over to Milford Sound.
You will have the opportunity to explore the shores for approximately 2 hours, with our three short walks, taking you to unmissable vantage points and through awesome wilderness
Starting with Milford’s best-kept secret, the Bowen Falls Walk, a small boat will transport you to the track that winds its way round right to the base of plunging Lady Bowen Falls, the tallest waterfall in Milford Sound. Experience this unique view from below so close up that you’ll feel the spray in your face as the freshwater crashes the 162 metres falls. (PLEASE NOTE: This is unfortunately not available 1st June - 31st September)
Wander through beech forest and alongside the sandy shores of majestic Milford Sound on the boardwalks of the Foreshore Loop Track for some of the best views of iconic Mitre Peak, standing a proud 1,692 metres above sea level. Learn more about the area through the interpretive visitor panels and take a moment to enjoy the best seat in the house, the Milford Sound swing – you may have seen the gorgeous photos on your Instagram feed.
Get an awesome perspective of Milford Sound framed by native bush when you climb the stairs of the Lookout Track, the short walk winds its way up to a spectacular viewpoint.
Finish off with a bite to eat from Discover Milford Café or bring your own picnic and enjoy lunch with a view on the benches overlooking the Sound and Mitre Peak before meeting your pilot for another epic 45 minute return flight to Queenstown, following a different flight path home.
