The Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre manages a Museum and a Field & Research Station at the Manitoba Escarpment.
Book a Dig Tour this summer season with us for an unforgettable day.
We will start the day with a quick introductory tour at the Museum in Morden, then a short drive in our vehicles to the our dig site at the Manitoba Escarpment to prospect fossils in the sedimentary layers of the Cretaceous.
We will enjoy a lunch (included) from a local restaurant in our Field & Research Station.
During the afternoon, you will be able to dig and uncover new bones from a fossil skeleton we have previously located.
At the end of the day, we will drive back to the Museum in Morden for a tour of our Collections Room and Laboratory to learn what we do with the fossils for restauration, research, 3D scanning and printing, and Museum display.
You will meet Bruce, a Tylosaurus pembinensis, Guinness World Record to the biggest mosasaur in public display, and Official Emblem of Manitoba.
