After meeting in Piano Provenzana on the north side of Etna, the trip to the summit area begins. The excursion starts from 1,800 meters and continues along a panoramic road that will allow you to reach an altitude of 2,850 meters.
Trekk around the craters known as Umberto and Margherita, two huge craters located at an altitude of about 2,380 meters. Feel all the strength of nature that creates and destroys.
Continue to the Pizzi Deneri volcanological observatory at an altitude of 2,850 meters for more trekking. From here, there is the chance to observe the summit craters that dominate the majestic Bove Valley at a safe distance.
The last stop will be the eruption site, dated back to October 27, 2002, with its characteristic button-shaped craters at an altitude of about 1,900 meters. The circular path will allow you to walk along the edges of the craters and admire the morphology called Bottoniera.
