Overview

I will show you some unique places where you will never visit! I can take photos with my camera or with your phone or your camera.

The National (or Royal) Garden is a luxurious park in the center of Athens, covering an area of 15.5 hectares. The gardens were planted for Queen Amalia back in 1839.

The garden practically surrounds the Parliament building. By the way, the changing of the guard takes place near the institution every hour - a spectacle worth watching. There are more than 15,000 species of plants on the territory of the national garden. The park is very well-kept, it has a living corner with geese, peacocks and goats.

There are also several ponds with huge fish and turtles. There is a playground for children. You can have a snack in the park cafe or just on a bench in the shade of the trees, or even on the lawn.

Activity itinerary

The Royal Garden is a park founded by the first queen of independent Greece, Amalia of Oldenburg, wife of King Otto, on an area of 15.5 hectares in the heart of Athens. It is located in close proximity to the Greek Parliament. The creation of the Royal Garden lasted from 1838 to 1840 under the direction of the German gardener Schmidt. To implement all the plans, more than 500 species of plants and various animals and birds were imported. The park is built as a sequence of compositions on certain themes, so in addition to exotic plants, it surprises with ancient ruins and mosaics. There is also a small zoo and several ponds with huge goldfish. There are picnic tables, large children's playground. You will get photos with amazing plants, picturesque alleys, vines in bloom and ancient excavations! This photo tour is new on viator, so the price is low. As soon as I have enough good reviews - the price will go up two times :)
