One of the greatest spots on earth as seen in Waterworld. This is one of the Black sand beaches on the Big Island it is also a very special place to the Hawaiian people very special and sacred.

We go to the point this is the site of the former schoolhouse that was destroyed in the 1948 tsunami as well as the train museum.

Stop At: Akaka Falls State Park, End of Akaka Falls Road Off Hwy 220, Hilo, Island of Hawaii, HI 96728

Then take a short hike at 'akaka falls, a majestic 442 feet waterfall. If the sky is clear you can see the beautiful mauna kea in the background.

Stop At: Rainbow Falls, Waianuenue Avenue, Hilo, Island of Hawaii, HI 96720

Our first stop will be at rainbow falls, home of the moon goddess hina, and one of the most visited waterfalls on the island. We will drive up the east coast of the island, which was once covered in sugarcane plantations. You will see waterfalls, lush greenery, tropical flowers, papaya fields, and stunning views of the ocean.

Pass By: Hamakua Coast, Highway 19, north of Hilo, Island of Hawaii, HI 96727

We will drive up the east coast of the island, which was once covered in sugarcane plantations. You will see waterfalls, lush greenery, tropical flowers, papaya fields, and stunning views of the ocean.
Stop for pictures along the way at several scenic spots overlooking the bay of hilo. A guest favorite stop is laupahoehoe point, a perfect picnic spot overlooking the blue ocean.

Stop At: Coconut Island, Off-shoot from Banyan Drive, Hilo, Island of Hawaii, HI 96720

You'll visit mokuola, the city of refugee, also now known as coconut island. Your guide will share with you the deep history that goes along with this place.
