      What you can expect

Get an immersive look into rural life in the Philippines during this full-day tour to Villa Escudero. A massive coconut plantation that dates back to the 1870s, Villa Escudero gives you insights into local agricultural practices as well as traditions and culture in the Philippines.

Journey out of Manila into the countryside of the Philippines, making your way to the Villa Escudero plantations that lie on the border of the Laguna and Quezon provinces. With 2,000 acres (800 ha) of working coconut plantations, Villa Escudero offers guests an immersive look at local agriculture and rural hacienda life. Go on a tour of the estate aboard a cart driven by a carabao (water buffalo), learning of the place's origins as a sugar cane plantation in 1872 before it was converted to a coconut site in the early 1900s.

Your tour gives you insights into the growing, harvesting, and processing stages of coconut cultivation, passing scenic manmade waterfalls along the way. Also, stop by the on-site private museum to see an amazing collection of historic, religious, and cultural artifacts that date from pre-Spanish times all the way up to World War II. You may even get the chance to see a cultural show performed by local artists in the evening. At the end of your day, close out your journey with easy transportation back to Manila.
