What you can expect
Rock climb in a pristine location that many consider to be among the prettiest destinations in all of Northwest Montana with a private guide. Trade the bustle of Whitefish for the untouched beauty of Lake Koocanusa, where a range of accessible and technical pitches let you test your physical limits.
Your day begins with hotel pickup, followed by a relaxing drive to Eureka. Here, trace a route along Lake Koocanusa, a 90-mile (145-km) reservoir that flows north toward the Canadian Rockies. Surrounded by jagged peaks and rugged riverbeds, arrive at the perfect crag to launch your climbing experience.
Before climbing on, your guide ensures that everyone feels comfortable—from first-time alpinists to more experienced mountaineers. Your guide outfits you with a certified helmet, safety harness, and rubber-soled shoes that protect your feet and provide support on steep pitches.
Next, it's time to take to the wall. Feel your heart race as you recruit the muscles in your arms and legs to scramble toward the sky. Near the summit, hoots and hollers from your climbing mates propel you through the final push. Before the day is done, refuel with snacks and a satisfying lunch.
