Relaxing Excursion – Étang-Salé-les-Bains (approximately 3 hours)
We cast off and cruise along the rugged coastline: blowhole, cave, bird cliff, lava flows, and the coral reef on the horizon. Along the way, depending on luck and the season, we may encounter dolphins, turtles, flying fish, and, from June to October, whales. We practice responsible observation (nature being unpredictable, we cannot guarantee cetacean sightings on every excursion).
We'll stop at a sheltered spot for snorkeling (fins, mask, and snorkel) for those who wish to participate. Underwater: basalt seabed, coral heads, swarms of damselfish, surgeonfish, and sometimes turtles. We provide attentive supervision, and the duration is adapted to the conditions and skill levels.
After swimming: a truly relaxing moment on board. Comfortable seating, soft music, and cocktails. Sharing anecdotes about geology, wildlife, local maritime history, and reef life.
Return: If sea conditions permit and the group is keen, a more dynamic sail with some fun, safe bursts of speed. Otherwise, a leisurely return.
Spirit of the outing: Small group, friendly atmosphere, nature first. Strict adherence to distances, angles, and approach times. No chasing, no encircling. The route, pace, and speed are adjusted by the captain according to the weather, sea conditions, and marine life.
Practical information
• Meeting point: Pontoon at Bassin Pirogues, Étang-Salé-les-Bains (opposite the restaurant L’Été Indien), 10 minutes before departure.
• Included: professional skipper (Cédric), snorkeling equipment, life jackets, cocktail.
• To bring: swimsuit, towel, sunglasses, reef-safe sunscreen, light jacket (it can be windy).
Options
• Private charters (family, corporate, memorial services at sea).
• “Sunset” option: same program, golden light, swimming (weather permitting), cocktails offshore before dusk.
