What you can expect
Hit all of Rottnest Island's must-see locations as you cruise around the island on a comfortable bus tour. Ferry over from Perth and hop aboard a bus to visit hotspots like the Wadjemup Lighthouse, Oliver Hill Battery, and Cape Vlamingh. A ride aboard a historic train makes a unique end to your journey.
Board a high-speed, air-conditioned ferry in the morning and cruise over from Perth's Hillarys Boat Harbor. Once you've landed on Rottnest Island, which was declared an A-class nature reserve in 1917, step into a bus to start your tour. Visit the Wadjemup Lighthouse, a 125-foot (38-m) building constructed in 1896 at the center and highest point of the island. From here, you can catch a glimpse of Perth across the water.
At the picturesque Henrietta Rocks, take in gorgeous vistas of the crystal-blue sea and the “Shark” shipwreck that can be seen from the road. Continue on to Cape Vlamingh, the westernmost point of the island, and take a stroll on its trails to spot native animals like quokkas and fairy terns. At the end of your tour, transfer from your bus to a historic train, which takes you to the Oliver Hill Battery, an icon of Australian home defense during World War II. The antique train is a charming way to finish your exploration of the island, after which you return to Perth via ferry.
