Description

Take a journey in to the Saint Emilion wine region, where merlot is the dominant form of grape. Learn all about production of this particular varietal and take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy tastings at a selection of vintage wineries.

Meet your guide and a small group of no more than 8 travelers at the Bordeaux city center and take a relaxing drive to the Saint Emilion area by minivan or minibus (depending on numbers). Make visits to 2 Classified growth châteaus with outstanding reputations for wine quality. Listen as your guide enlightens you to the details of the winemaking process that makes this region so widely regarded.

Next, begin a guided walking tour of Saint Emilion that takes you to the most significant landmarks of this quaint hilltop village. Take some free time to explore and enjoy the opportunity to taste wines in one of numerous cellars throughout the village.

In the afternoon, enjoy a final tasting session in a carefully selected winery. On this final tour it will be time for you to find out if all the information and wine tasting sessions of the morning have made you a true Saint Emilion wine expert. We will talk about aromas, fruit, senses, aging and so much more. Your experience ends with a hassle-free drive back to the Bordeaux city center.

Luigi was an amazing guide! A perfect Sunday wine tour, Pomerol and St Emilion with wine tasting games on the drive back to the hotel!

Our tour was wonderful! Our tour Guide Julie was fun and engaging. There were 16 people total and we had very nice transportation in an air conditioned van. We also had time to visit the town and have lunch on our own. I would recommend to anyone going to Bordeaux.
