Description

Equipped with a map featuring 3 routes, hop on your bike and get ready to make your way through beautiful Golden Gate Park. Choose a hybrid comfort bike or an electric bike to help with the hills and pedal by Stow Lake, the California Academy of Sciences, and even bison.

Starting from shop near Golden Gate Park, gear up, grab your map, and ride through the historic Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, once home to peace, love, and the Grateful Dead. Check out gorgeous Victorian homes peppered throughout the area before heading into Golden Gate Park.

Inside the park, spanning more than 1,000 acres (405 ha), the opportunities are endless. Visit the Conservatory of Flowers, the San Francisco Botanical Garden, the Shakespeare Garden, and Japanese Tea Garden. If you like, lock up your bike and explore 2 world-class museums—the California Academy of Sciences and the DeYoung—before circling Stow Lake.

Head to the beach and pedal along the oceanfront bike path, passing the sand dunes shoring up the city. If you feel adventurous, venture out to the zoo before heading back through the park, passing the Bison Paddock and Spreckels Lake.
