Description

Tour the amazing archaeological landmarks south of Beirut. See the ancient Phoenician port of Tyre and then head up the coast to the Persian city of Sidon, renowned for its green scenery, before a traditional lunch and a visit to the Temple of Echmoun.

Travel down the Mediterranean coastline to Tyre (romanized as Sour). Admire the Roman hippodrome as well as Al-Mina, which features soaring columns and the reconstructed triumphal arch. Learn from your guide how the city and the region have been shaped by many different civilizations.

Journey back to Sidon, another picturesque port, this one surrounded by citrus and banana trees. Stroll along the causeway and climb the tower for a view of the fishing town. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant with a vista across the blue sea. There's time to stop at your final Phoenician relic, the Temple of Echmoun, built to honor the god of healing.
