What you can expect
Doge's Palace exhibits Venice's expansive history. Discover the secrets of the old Republic of Venice while wandering around stunning masterpieces by Tintoretto and Veronese. See Casanova's prison cell and hidden areas not normally available to the general public.
Built in the Venetian Gothic style, Doge's Palace was once home to the Duke of Venice and his government. After breezing past the admission line, walk through numerous corridors featuring vast collections of frescoes, sculptures, and paintings, such as Veronese's Juno Bestowing her Gifts on Venice and Tintoretto's Neptune Offering Gifts to Venice.
Visit the piombi, or attic prison, which is rarely opened to the public. Explore the place where Venice's most famed lover and writer, Casanova, was imprisoned and hear the story of his successful escape. Make your way to the Bridge of Sighs where, according to the legend, you can hear the sounds of the condemned being led to the prison.
Take this opportunity to visit the prisons, travel around the palace on your own or choose an upgrade with the skip the line access to St. Mark’s Basilica, including the terraces
