St. Augustine Ghosts & Gravestones Tour

by Historic Tours of America Duration 1h 35m Free cancellation available No booking or credit card fees
per adult Price is $31

Explore the darker side of the nation’s oldest city, St Augustine. Hop on the Trolley of the Doomed to explore landmarks of the supernatural and hear tales of murder, ghostly apparitions, and hauntings. Keep watch as you enter the Old City Gates for ghost-child Elizabeth, a yellow fever victim.

Your first stops are Huguenot Cemetery and Tolomato Cemetery. As you meander through the gravestones, be on the lookout for the spirit of 5-year old James, jumping through the trees, or the lonely Ghost Bride, still waiting for her groom.

Next learn the secrets to hauntings that have plagued the Old Drug Store from the time it first opened in 1887 and then visit Potter’s Wax Museum’s Chamber of Horrors for a unique retelling of the famed pirate Andrew Ransom’s gruesome execution.

Finally, stop by the Old St. John’s Jail, built in 1891 and home to prisoners for over 60 years, including several who met their end on a hangman’s noose. Walk quietly through the hallways, listening for voices, cold spots, apparitions, and the prisoner who’s never left, Charlie Powell.

I highly recommend this entertaining and informative tour. I went in slightly skeptical, but ended up capturing a photo of the ghost known as “The Lady in White” without even realising it. I noticed her when I looked through my pictures at the end of the tour.

My wife and I did the tour on a Sunday night 8 o’clock reservation so it would be darkness. We recommend you go at night also! My wife caught an “orb” on her I-phone camera while standing in the back of the jail!! I experienced an incident at the first stop (cemetery) The tour was exiting the area and I was one of the last in the group, a woman in front of me stopped for another photo. When the flash went off I saw a white line in front of her (vertical and about six inches wide) when she checked the photo there was a yellow orb right in front of her!!! The hair on my arms stood straight up for a few minutes after that!! I felt the presence for sure!! Gabby was a great host, and Charlie at the jail really played the part of a dead prisoner! Go at night and take photos!!! Really cool trip, worth the 4 hour drive!!
