A few rays of the sunlight began to rise from the far end of the water body which was surrounded by trees on all sides. The rectangular 700X300 metre reservoir suddenly appeared much bigger. It was still partly flooded because the drowned shrine in its center was only faintly visible. It was a bit chilly and solitude of the site was giving me goosebumps. We sat down alongside the Naga handrails just before the stairs and waited for the sun to show itself.First_the sunlight touched the back of the trees in_horizon_which appeared like coal painting, then landed on the still water of the reservoir and dissolved like a drop of color does in clear water. It was magical. The sky was partly clouded and was filled with strange_colours, still meandering between blue and grey. The horizon was a wonderful orange and Srah Srang was a mirror of was this beautiful canvas. The air was fresh and pleasant warmth of the sun was touching our naked feet. Mom was right, early mornings are blissful. At least at Srah_Srang_they are.
