Get transferred from Lexington city out into the Bluegrass region, where fields of green stretch out beautifully in every direction. Drive by the famous Calumet Farm, famous for its many Kentucky Derby and Triple Crown winners. Learn the history of the farm, whose horses dominated racing in the 1940s and 1950s and was established in 1924.

Next visit Keeneland Race Course, a beautiful thoroughbred racing facility and the site of the world's most expensive horse auctions and where scenes from the major movies like Seabiscuit, Secretariat, and Dreamer were filmed . Our Tour Guide, Matt was very well informed and knowlegeable. He was able to point out where a number of movie scenes had bee filmed at Keeneland and in the Lexington area. He was well informed on many of the Thoroughbred Fars in the area. Enjoyed visiting and learning more about Keeneand. The visits to Rose Hill Farm, Hill 'n' Dales Farms and McPeet Racing gave insight into the different types and sizes of Thoroughbred Farms in Lexington, Particularly enjoyed seeing the grave and sculpture of Seattle Slew and where Curlin, one of the top Thoroughbred Stallions stands. Kenny McPeet had several horses at Keeneland fr Opening Day, October 4.

DO NOT MISS this experience if you’re in the Lexington area! Mike was a knowledgeable and entertains guide. He went way above the call of duty and showed us lots of “insider” tips and tricks of the thoroughbred horse community. It was really an amazing experience!
