Casa Aliaga is one of the oldest and best preserved colonial houses in Latin America. It is located in the historic center of Lima, Peru, right in front of the Government Palace, and has been inhabited uninterrupted by seventeen generations of the same family since its construction in the 16th century. Its history is closely linked to the founding of the city and the development of the viceroyalty of Peru. Over the centuries, Casa Aliaga has been remodeled and expanded, blending diverse architectural styles, from colonial to neoclassical baroque. Its interior houses an impressive collection of antique furniture, colonial paintings, religious sculptures and decorative objects that reflect the aristocratic taste of the different eras.
