Overview

Imagine crossing the threshold of a mansion that has been inhabited by the same family for nearly 500 years. Walk through halls adorned with Viceroyal art, admire original 17th century furniture, discover colonial secrets and feel part of history.
Why visit her?

Because it is the oldest house in America inhabited by the same family since 1535.

Because every corner is full of living history: legends, portraits, relics… and even a private chapel.

Because you won't see anything like that anywhere else in the world.

We will visit the famous Catacombs of Saint Francis of Assisi where 25,000 buried bodies are found.

Casa Aliaga is one of the oldest and best preserved colonial houses in Latin America. It is located in the historic center of Lima, Peru, right in front of the Government Palace, and has been inhabited uninterrupted by seventeen generations of the same family since its construction in the 16th century. Its history is closely linked to the founding of the city and the development of the viceroyalty of Peru. Over the centuries, Casa Aliaga has been remodeled and expanded, blending diverse architectural styles, from colonial to neoclassical baroque. Its interior houses an impressive collection of antique furniture, colonial paintings, religious sculptures and decorative objects that reflect the aristocratic taste of the different eras. Among its most prominent spaces are: The central courtyard, typical of the colonial houses of Lima. The family chapel, finely decorated. The dining room and main halls of the 19th century.
