On your way walking through the town, you have a chance to fill your bottle with fresh spring water – snows fell on Mt. Fuji, filtered and purified through the layers of lava, and gushed out after 20-40 years long subterranean travel. Local people believe that the water contains natural and spiritual power of the sacred mountain. After walking, you have a unique opportunity to make your own Matcha tea with Mt. Fuji spring water you have just drawn.

Modern days town life has created new “Image of Japan”. Standing on the town’s shopping street, you can see Mt. It might associate you with some strange future town’s sceneries from Ridley Scott’s film “Blade Runner”, and is attracting many photo takers from overseas.

The “Must” place to visit is Arakura Chureito Pagoda; located halfway up on the hill facing Mt. Fuji. From here, you can shoot Mt. Fuji with Pagoda and cherry blossoms (blooming season mid-April) in a single frame; an “Ultimate Image of Japan”.
