The Taj Mahal's construction started in 1631 and was completed in 1653, which took 22 years. The construction materials used in the Taj Mahal came from all over India and other Asian countries. It is believed that over 1,000 elephants were used to carry marble. The white marble was brought from Makrana, Rajasthan. and around 20,000 workers come from Persia to Agra to construct the Taj Mahal.

Jodha Bais Palace is a mix of Hindu and Mughal styles, next to the 5-story Panch Mahal that overlooks the site.
